Just a reminder about the summer evening BBQ and camp out if you wish event. It's scheduled for the 25th June. It clashes with other clubs evets but that is to be expected. We need an "owner" for this one. Someone who will take responsibility for organising and providing the evening BBQ. Entertainment might be good. Looking for a volunteer, please post here if you are excited by the prospect of feeding and entertaining forty odd members and family.

OK, if you are stepping into the breach what is the menu? We probably need three choices for the main and a selection of puds and treats for the kids. What are we cooking it on? hot trays, ovens etc or are we winging it on the barby We should probably get some other guys involved creating family friendly, kids style entertainment for the early evening. Swinging buckets of flaming paraffin, smoke systems and kamakasi parachutest are probably not ideal. Bouncy Castle? Pin the tail on the donkey? Coconut stall? Face painting? Big candy floss, Paint ball your sister? What? Who is best to grab this 5am to 7am slot?

Alastair Kean (spikey) has offered to manage the catering, he may ask for support. I'm told the event needs downgraded, so paint balling your sister is off, so too face painting, hmmm.. what to do with all that spare gloss paint?

Administrator Posts: 250 | Saturday was the best day I think I have ever had at our field. Great company, lots of flying, superb food and I found out I can still fly helis. It was nice to see some of the models that had been built / owned by my Dad in the slot last night, don't think I have ever seen so many of his models in the air in the one year never mind at the one time. Alistair and his good lady put on an absolute stunning spread of food which went down well. Looking forward to today's flying now. A very big thanks to all who organised the event.

I am glad the grub was okay with everyone, The flowers for my wife was a great gesture. Tricia was afraid that there might might not be enough food for the occasion but this was not the case. I informed her that we were also having a late summer BBQ her reply was I think we will try to alter the menu this time, so it seems she is prepared to do the food again if required If our services are required you can let me know! Thanks to everyone that helped me to get my Bearcat in the air and the the new tranny sorted out On Sunday another great afternoon.
