We got together at the Stables Bar. Apologies from Iain and Spikey. 1) Trial Bikes. It was agreed we would finish fencing the front gate and the back of the car park. It was agreed the trees at the main gate that are fire damaged should come down This will allow cars to view the lane on exit and so avoid confrontation with horse and riders in the lane. It will deter white van man and generally make the area more open and safe. Rod will discuss with Palacerigg. The heli field fence will also be restored and enhanced. The CCTV has proved ineffective with two encroachments whilst the CCTV was running. It was agreed to abandon the current CCTV and to install some dummy CCTV in an overt way that may deter folks. 3G remote surveillance and such was discussed but the cost is prohibitive. It was agreed to try and get the local paper to carry a story about the vandalism in the hope that the parents or neighbours will exert some control. Rod and Kenny will progress this. The local community Police Officer is still on the case and still in touch with the committee. It was agreed that the current insurance policy offered little relief. Spending on fencing is unlikely to materially exceed the excess and there is some doubt about whether the improvement to the majority of the fencing is a legitimate claim. 2) Since we can no longer access the lane from the back of the car park it was agreed we would look at secure WC facilities. Vandal proof and serviced. A decision will be taken when costs are known. The plan is to have something in a steel box or container at the rear of the current cabins. Ryan will obtain prices 3) Safety, it was agreed that we did not need a specific safety officer and that it was a responsibility that fell on each committee member and indeed every club member. It was agreed that the primary concerns still focus on behaviour out on the runway and the habit of tuning and running engines in the pits. 4) Drainage, it was agrreed that we do need to look at how to better drain the site. We have had a very wet year and it has exacerbated the trial bike damage but the field is so wet that even footsteps are doing damage. It was agreed that we get Robert, who handled Kirkintilloch's drainage, to have a look at our site. | |
